These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the iOS applications published by AillaGrid LLC (“AillaGrid”, “we”, “us”, “our”), including Country Survival Kit (the “App”), and of the website aillagrid.com (the “Site”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
These Terms are supplemented by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs the licence of the App itself to the extent these Terms do not address a matter.
1. The licence we grant you
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.
You may not: copy, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App or its content; reverse-engineer or decompile the App except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded; extract, scrape, or bulk-export the App’s editorial content; or use the App’s content to train machine-learning models or to build a competing product.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to purchase a subscription or make any purchase in the App. By making a purchase you confirm that you meet this requirement. The App is rated 17+ and is not directed at children.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
[CONFIRM against final App Store Connect IAP configuration before publication:] The App is free to download and includes a number of countries at no cost. Access to the remaining content is available as a subscription or as a one-time purchase.
Billing is handled by Apple. All purchases are processed through your Apple Account. We never see or handle your payment details.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under Apple’s refund policy. Request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask you to consent before the change takes effect. Existing one-time purchases are not affected by later price changes.
4. What the App content is — and isn’t
The App contains editorial travel information: guidance, context, and opinion, written by us and reviewed periodically.
It is not professional advice, including legal, medical, financial, or safety advice. Travel information changes. Border rules, transport, prices, opening hours, safety conditions, and emergency numbers can all change without notice, and content that was accurate when written may be out of date when you read it.
You are responsible for verifying anything that matters — in particular visa and entry requirements, health and vaccination requirements, current safety and security conditions, and emergency contact numbers — with official sources before you travel. For emergencies, always rely on local emergency services and your government’s official travel advice, not on the App.
Currency exchange rates shown in the App are reference rates from a third-party source, may be cached, and are indicative only. They are not a quote and will not match what you’re charged.
5. Ownership
The App, the Site, and all their content — text, editorial writing, design, artwork, icons, audio, and software — are owned by AillaGrid LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. “AillaGrid” and “Country Survival Kit” are our trademarks.
Third-party marks, place names, and referenced applications remain the property of their respective owners; their appearance in the App is descriptive and does not imply endorsement.
6. Availability
We do our best to keep the App working, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features and content — including coverage of individual countries — at any time. We may discontinue the App, though we’d give reasonable notice if we did. If we discontinue the App while you have an active subscription, any refund for the unused portion of a prepaid period will be handled through Apple.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and the Site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AillaGrid LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App or the Site — including any reliance on its content.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty US dollars (US$50).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Apple
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and AillaGrid LLC, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your licence to use the App if you materially breach these Terms — for example, by scraping or redistributing the App’s content, or using it to build a competing product or train a machine-learning model. Where practicable, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to remedy the breach first.
Termination does not entitle you to a refund except where required by law or Apple’s refund policy. Sections 4 (content), 5 (ownership), 7 (warranties), 8 (liability), 12 (governing law), and 13 (general) survive termination.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised version at https://aillagrid.com/terms, and where the change materially affects an active subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice in the App or by other reasonable means. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel your subscription at any time via Apple as described in Section 3; the change will not apply to you before your current billing period ends.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and AillaGrid LLC agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally or gives you the benefit of mandatory local law.
13. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms Apple applies to your App Store purchases, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and the Site.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided your rights under these Terms are not materially reduced.
